The second generation of TAG Heuer connected watch - Connected Modular 45

2017 TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 is essentially a refined version of the original Connected- it’s fractionally smaller (45mm vs. 46mm) and has a symmetrical extended black bezel on both top and bottom of the case, while Connected I only has the black bezel on the bottom.

It’s a good-looking watch, and one that will be very familiar to those with a Carrera Heuer-01, which served as the original inspiration.While Connected I has a black titanium-carbide bezel, there are a variety of options for the Connected Modular- the example shown here has an uncoated titanium bezel, but as you’ll see later in this review, there are many, many other options.The touchscreen is sapphire crystal, and the only other way to control the watch is via the crown- while this doesn’t turn like an Apple Watch, you can press the crown to access apps.A further improvement in the design is the alignment of the lugs with the case, rather than the previous design where the lugs extended over the top of the case.

With the automatic Calibre 5 module inserted, the watch looks just as good, with a simple 3-hand watch design matched with a glossy ceramic bezel.
